How Music Changed

    Upward and onward! Part 18 in our lengthy series dedicated to music of the British Invasion finds us starting at the tail end of the Summer of Love.

    By this point, British and American music were getting thoroughly intertwined, making it more difficult to discern a stylistic difference between British and American pop music. This was further abetted by the influence of psychedelia on pop culture, which was at its peak in the latter part of 1967.

    Here’s a peak at the songs covered in this program;

    1) There Goes My Everything – Engelbert Humperdinck

    2) All You Need Is Love – The Beatles

    3) Baby You’re a Rich Man – The Beatles

    4) Pay You Back With Interest – The Hollies

    5) Carrie-Anne – The Hollies

    6) To Love Somebody – The Bee Gees

    7) San Franciscan Nights – Eric Burden
