    This is our 17th show dedicated to the music of the British Invasion, and it’s one of my favorites because it has some of my all-time favorite pop songs in it. It’s special because this is the British pop music that accompanied the Summer of Love.

    It’s also special because three important British Invasion acts make their American Top Chart debut at this point in time (The Who, Procol Harum and the Bee Gees), offering up some truly classic material. All of this, and we don’t even have to relay on the Beatles or the Stones, who are not featured this week, although there presence is certainly felt.

    Here are the tracks we feature;

    1) I’m a Man – The Spencer Davis Group

    2) On a Carousel – The Hollies

    3) When I Was Young – Eric Burden & the Animals

    4) Friday on My Mind – The Easybeats

    5) I Was Kaiser Bill’s Batman – Whistling Jack Smith

    6) Happy Jack – The Who

    7) A Whiter Shade of Pale – Procol Harum

    8) Don’t Sleep in the Subway – Petula Clark

    9) New York Mining Disaster 1941 – The Bee Gees

    10) Don’t Go Out in the Rain – Herman’s Hermits
