In the beginning, rock and roll looked like some sort of males only club. Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck, Jerry Lee…I could go on and on. With very few exceptions, guys ruled the roost for the fist five years of rock and roll history.

It wasn’t until 1960 when the tide started to shift, and girl vocal groups became trendy. This series of shows is dedicated to that trend, and the memorable music that resulted.

Our first show sets the table, focusing on female artists that predate the classic girl group era.
