1994 represented a return to form for Pink Floyd as a band, as Richard Wright returned as an actual full-fledged member of the band (as opposed to a paid employee), and he even managed to release a very credible solo album as well.

The unity (less Roger, of course) served as inspiration and “The Division Bell” proved to be their best work since “The Wall”. Meanwhile, Roger kept rolling along, releasing yet another live album (following his spectacle performance of “The Wall”, which we partially covered last week), and then, somehow even managed to compose an entire opera! The rock crowd did not seem to take note, but regardless, it was an incredible and unpredictable feat that absolutely deserves serious consideration. By any account, “Ca Ira” (Sa – Eera) is an impressive, formal work of art.

By 1994, Pink Floyd, together or apart, were reaching goals that could never have been predicted.
