It’s hard to take a band called Nashville Pussy very seriously, and luckily, I don’t have to. This quartet of two guys and two girls redefines high energy rock and roll as cartoon cuntry metal, sort of like the Angus brothers (AC/DC) and their illegitimate twin sisters jamming in Appalachia. Headbangers won’t care if the band is essentially a one-dimensional joke, especially since the material is consistently hard-hitting, but variety is definitely not part of the program here. Differentiating the songs for critical purposes would be ridiculous, since each and every title conveys the same “white-trash-on-Jack-and-speed” mentality that provides the band’s unique image.
Ultimately, “Get Some!” comes off like a tongue in cheek novelty, with better than adequate playing to support the proceedings. If you like the idea of Alice Cooper on steroids (or is it estrogen?), then this CD is for you.
