As traditional as St. Patrick’s Day, the Greenfields of America bring such an infectious energy to their performances that it’s a wonder half the world isn’t drinking a pint in their honor. Combining all elements of Irish culture, from the written word of Celtic poetry, to mournful Gaelic ballads, to jigs that will practically force you out of your seat, these guys do it all with a grace that does Ireland proud. Still in all, this is not your grandfather’s Irish music, but beautifully contemporary versions that just might prove that the old man had it right all along.
