What is there say when a band calls itself “The Homecoming Queens”?
The Homecoming Queens combine ska and punk influences without pretense, in a manner that is completely original and thoroughly fun. I had the opportunity to catch a live show over a year ago, and was duly impressed – impressed enough to find out how they have progressed since.
The band is comprised of boys mostly, with a fabulous fe-male drummer, from my own town of Huntington, NY. Since last year, they graduated from high school, so I figured the band was pretty much kaput. The good news – really good news – is that the band survived the “separation by college factor”, are still together, still making music, and still really good at what they do. Plus, they’re fun to hang out with too!
It’s always great when a passionate group of musicians beat the odds So check out the show by clicking below and share in the fun we had in the studio.
